Every two weeks, Akai Professional will post a handful of samples from the MPC Software, The Bank, and the MPC Expansions to the MPC Battle Samples page.
Download the samples, load them onto your MPC, and make a track. All styles are welcome.
Upload your track to Akai Professional’s SoundCloud MPC Battle Group using your SoundCloud account. Please include "MPC Battle Round 8" in your track title and in the track description enter a summary on how you created your track.
When the round ends, the Akai Pro team will judge the top five most-listened-to tracks. The top track will be selected based on creative use of the samples provided and overall quality, so bring your best.
The winner’s track, artwork, and SoundCloud link will be featured on this site's homepage, and will get shout-outs sent from Akai Professional’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Entries must use ALL the samples provided but can also include your own samples and sounds.
Unauthorized use of copyrighted music or material will disqualify your track.
No artwork containing drug use, nudity, or violence.
Vulgar language should be avoided or at least "bleeped".
If your track can't be played on the radio, it can't win the battle.
Tracks should be around three minutes long.
Maximum track length is five minutes.
If you lose a round don't be discouraged.
Head back to the lab, hit the pads, and prepare for the next one. It isn't far away.
